Enjoying His GRACE
Preaching His BIBLE
Building His CHURCH

Our Story

The story of Grace Bible Church began in the mid-1980’s, when just a few believers began meeting together with the goal planting a church that was very intentional about learning the Bible, living it out & sharing the message of Jesus.

In 1989, one from that little group, Craig Lloyd, went to train at The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles.  In 1993 he returned with his family to the same group of believers to become the founding pastor Grace Bible Church (GBC).
GBC began to grow, and soon acquired a church building in Annerley.   In 1997, they also acquired another pastor – Dave D’Amour, who was Craig’s roommate at seminary.

Soon, we outgrew our facility in Annerley, and through amazing circumstances the Lord provided our Holland Park facility in 1999.
This larger facility allowed us to provide more ministries to the church, plus outreaches and services to the community (Mummy & Me Playgroup, Holiday Kids Club, etc.).  The church was now really growing – not just in breadth but in depth.  How exciting to see God’s transformation of people into the likeness of Jesus!

We began to add pastoral interns, and despite adding a second morning service (in addition to the evening service), by 2012, we found ourselves outgrowing the Holland Park facility.
Was our next step to move to a larger building or to plant more churches that would equip & mature Jesus’ disciples to proclaim His good news throughout Brisbane and beyond?

We decided that in our context, the best way to advance God’s kingdom was to plant more churches.  One of our interns, Ben Shannon, planted Grace Bible Church Corinda in 2013.
And after pastoring at Holland Park for over twenty years, in 2018 Dave D’Amour planted Grace Bible Church Logan, with about 100 people who are excited to grow in the likeness of Jesus and spread His good news in our part of the city!

Besides various midweek meetings, we gather on Sundays at 9am in the Performing Arts Centre of Rochedale South State School, on the corner of Wendron St and Lamorna St.
